4-Easy To Follow Steps towards Successful Affiliate Marketing

Today we are trying something new, my friend Davion Wong is our first person to write a guest blog post, if you are interested in being a guest blog writer let me know by sending me an email reedfloren AT gmail.com

The affiliate marketing game can be a huge challenge to new marketers. With tons of affiliate offers and multiple money-making blueprints offered by well-meaning marketers, it can sometimes do more harm than good. Why is this so? Many affiliates, even experienced ones fall into the trap of getting too involved with too many programs. The big “D” ie Distractions is the biggest enemy of most marketers.

In order to succeed in affiliate marketing, you have to be prepared to give up these distractions and start focusing on one thing at a time.

The simplest plan is often the best plan. After all, being able to execute a simple plan diligently beats having a complicated, sophisticated plan that you simply cannot follow and execute. Agree?

Here are 4 easy to follow steps that you can take that will make a great difference to your affiliate marketing efforts. They are so easy that we often missed them altogether!

1. Picking the Right Product to Promote

Every single day, we are flooded with hundreds of new product offers. We simply cannot afford to promote every single one of them. It is important therefore to identify your niche and focus on a single targeted product before moving on to the next.

A new affiliate will do well to start with ClickBank or PayDotCom. If you are using ClickBank, the rule of the thumb is to go for products that sell well. Run a quick search in each of the categories and pick a product in the top 10 in terms of popularity. Make sure that the affiliate gravity is above 30 as this indicates that there is a constant and healthy stream of sales.

2. Creating Your Sales Conduit

What is a sales conduit?

This is your online spokesperson that converts your prospects.

This can be your content website, or even your WordPress or Blogger blog. Use your content to provide quality information to your visitor. Subtly, promote your product as the solution to all the questions your visitor has in mind. Reviews are excellent in converting visitors into buyers.

Another type of sales conduit can be a lead capture page or name squeeze page. In fact, you can even include your opt-in box on your content website or blog. Offer a free report or 10-part email course that is of value in exchange for your visitor’s name and email address. Building a list can bring you instant and future sales.

The third kind is simply a one-page review site that is often used in Pay-Per-Click marketing.

3.  Driving Targeted Traffic

You need targeted traffic which you can either buy or get for free. Paid advertising examples are pay-per-click like Google Adwords and Miva, banner advertising using networks like AdBrite and Ezine advertising.

Free traffic can get you tons of prospects. The most effective free traffic techniques include article marketing, Web 2.0 marketing, forum marketing, blog comment posting and video marketing. While these are free, most successful affiliates outsource most of these tasks.

4. Rinse And Repeat

This is how it works. Successful affiliate marketers take their proven model and duplicate it for other niches and sub-niches. This is how they add multiple streams of income onto their plates. Be sure to learn from your competitors as they are often role models that have one thing or two to teach you.

    Hallo Reed,
Thanks for the items but but you should read them aloud and you stumble upon the points raised.
There are Pros and Cons but the cons have the majority. These 4 items are already describing the difficulties which you are facing. All depends on the right choice of the products you are promoting. First you have to pay for either a Website, attractive promotions TEXT / TEXT 7 and layout once you run into a trap when you are not emotionally going with the content. You have no right to change the site when the product is not matching the feeling. Then you have to pay additionals when your choice is failing or does not get results which are promised etc etc a nugget is rare. Blooks are starting and have no researches and follow up teams and all people mentioned as GURUS etc followed a long way min. 3, 4 years with ups and downs. No one can start from scrath with a 4/5/6 figures income which I doubt very much. It could be but these 4 items let you look very deep into the matter.
    sincerly peter

I need help and guidance on how to build landing pages, and how to create a website with different landing pages for each different product I am promoting. If you have already spoken on this subject I apologize if I missed it. Thanks again for all of the useful information for newbies like me.

Great post by Davion. I think point #1 is the most critical. Distractions and time waters are the biggest obstacle I think any of us face in moving forward, not just in building an IM business, but in acomplishing almost anything worthwhile. Take action – any action towards your goals – then redirect your efforts by implementing tried and proven methods based on the success of those who have gone before you. It is a basic law of physics that it takes less energy to redirect an object already in motion than it does to move an object at rest… an object in motion tends to stay in motion, an object at rest tends to stay at rest. Are you resting on your backside doing nothing, or are you in motion?

    Great post Davion,
I think you hit the spot with which most newbie’s face, Distractions are your biggest enemy but that doesn’t mean you can’t launch yourself into several different earning potentials, I have myself started a lot of separate projects that run pretty much on their own. It’s all about building on your strategies and diversifying into different niche areas, of course all of this needs careful planning in order to run smoothly.

Theoretically any advice is good. What is more important is how do you execute it? To tell you the truth, I only manage to earn USD2 for current affiliate I join (refer to my website). Reed, Davion can you help me?

    Hi Reed and others.
Another excellent post – and I have long been a fan and disciple of Davion.
Steve, go do a google search on how to build a landing page – there are over 1,000,000 results.Plenty of info for you there and I don’t doubt that there’ll be lots of free help there, too. For website building, Steve, you could start out with Blue Voda – it’s really easy and it’s free.In my opinion it’s a very good place to start.Having said that blogs are websites too,and they are easy to build too,so do consider putting up a blog to start with.If you make good use of your chosen keywords and write articlees linking back to your blog, then the search engine will find you no sweat.Heaps of free advertising that way.I have hit spot 5,page 1 of Google regularly on my keywords through blogs and articles.Great for sales.Good luck.

Once again, it doesn’t matter how much you read and learn. The number one thing that will get you results is YOU TAKING ACTION!!!Every single day.Plan your daily work – yep, make a schedule, then work your plan.

    Cheers for today
    Lynda

@ladybeam and @francis I don’t mean any offence by this comment but if you write a very first eBook don’t expect John Reese to be your first customer. If you look at the statement you will be looking for your own little guys. Help them to understand and USE your product and you have a repeat customer.

What Reed has done here is not simple he has built community and he has invited a great visitor thanks for the post Davion I’l see you on your blog soon.

Great advise for newbies and for us not so newbies also. Sometimes we loose sight of what really matters most. We should always place Honesty and Integrity at the top of our ethics list, At least that is the way I was raised. My wife and I where lucky ealy on, to find two marketers who believe in those same pinciples. In fact, we just launched a new website which includes a link to their “TOP NOTCH” affiliate program. If you have a chance, check it out at:> http://milliondollaraffiliates.synthasite.com/
