to know how to write a blog post to attract traffic from the
search engines.

The advice you hear most often is to search engine optimize
your posts and write informative posts that educates the reader.

But that only tells you what to do and not how to do it.
Let me explain how you can write a blog post for traffic.

Step 1: Keyword Research

If you already have a topic in your head, don’t write a single
word until you’ve done your keyword research.

The common mistake made by bloggers is writing a post
without doing any keyword research.

If you want to generate more traffic, then you need to have
your posts appear on the first page of the search engine results.

To do that, you need to know what keywords are being
searched for, and your chances of ranking on the first page.

Look for keywords that have over 2,000 searches month and
then type them in the search engines to see what the top ten
search engine listings are. Gather a list of keywords with this criteria.

Step 2: Your Competition

f the top ten listings have an average Page Rank of 3 and are not
filled with huge authority sites such as Wikipedia, then you have
a good chance of ranking on the first page.

For example, if listings number 4,5 and 7 are from websites with
low Page Rank, poor quality content and don’t have many backlinks
to them, then you can easily outrank them.

Step 3: Insert Your Keywords

Now you’re ready to insert your keywords in to your post.
Make sure that the keywords you’re focusing on are placed in:

-         the title of your post
-         the first sentence of your post
-         in the sub-headlines
-         and in the last paragraph

You would naturally repeat the keywords in the middle of

your posts as well but try to keep it within a density of 3%.
e.g. for a 500 word post, repeat the keyword 15 times or less.

Step 4: Insert Pictures

Next you need to insert pictures into your posts to liven things up.
However, try to search engine optimize your image as well.

To do this, name the image file the same as the keywords you’re
focusing on, insert your keywords in the alt tag and make the
image clickable so that it links to a post that is similar to the
keywords that you’re focusing on.

Step 5: Revise

You need to revise your blog post so that it doesn’t sound weird
with all the keywords inserted. Try to re-write some sentences
so that the post flows smoothly.

Once you’ve carried out this process with several posts, look
at your traffic and monitor the performance. If you find that some
posts are on page 2, then build backlinks to these posts to give
them that extra push to the first page of the search engine results.

This is how you search engine optimize your blog posts for traffic.
Content is important but without SEO, not many people will know about it.

They are always jumping from one thing to another and at the end of the day they accomplish nothing.

For example, let’s say that you buy a course about email marketing and you start studying it, but then you receive an email about a new course teaching how to create and use Youtube videos to generate traffic and you go ahead and buy it. At this point you put down the email marketing course and start the Youtube course, so you never go through the entire email marketing course.

The bad thing about this is that it is a cycle that never stops and you never learn and apply anything so you never achieve any good result.

Also, think about all the time that is wasted participating in social media sites, forums, etc.

What you have to do is… study, learn and apply. This is what will make you succeed.

2. Poor Research: If you don’t do an extensive and in-depth research about what you are going to offer you have big chances to fail. Just because you got an idea and think it is going to work it doesn’t mean that it will really work.

You have to do a market research and be 100% sure that what you are going to offer to the marketplace is going to sell. Just after that you can start working on it.

3. Copying Without Knowing What Is Working: I’ve seen this lot of times. You see something and think that you can do it and make it work for you but you end up failing. The point is that you don’t see the whole system they have in place, you don’t really know what makes it profitable.

For example, you can copy someone giving away a $197 course who is making a lot of money out of it, but you don’t know what they offer in the backend, you don’t know what goes on behind the scenes, so before you go ahead and start giving away a $197 course you have to do a research and know exactly the system you need to set up to make it profitable.

4. Creating Product First: Many people come out with a product idea and immediately start to work on it without knowing if people really want it, and for this simple reason they fail… If nobody wants your product you end up with no sales.

The right way is to figure out who wants what and give it to them.

5. Reinventing The Wheel: Specially in the beginning never try to be the first, don’t try to create something completely new because you will have to spend a lot of time, energy and money researching and testing.

To make money you just have to identify what is working and improve it. If you see that something is working, why in the world you have to complicate your life creating something new? If you know it works just take it and improve it a little bit, this is the way most people make money in this business.

6. Falling In Love With The Product: There are people that create a product and fall in love with it, they become so obsessed with it that they don’t have time for other important things. They continue working on it to make it better and better and never launch it.

You have to understand that your product doesn’t have to be perfect, the most important thing is that it solves your customers problem. So get it going and then improve it based on feedback. As Jay Abraham says, you have to fall in love with your customers not with your products.

7. Not Knowing Your Numbers: 75% of my students when they start my coaching program tell me that they don’t know their numbers which is something I really don’t understand. If you don’t know your numbers then, how are you going to improve and grow?

You have to know what works and what doesn’t and in order to do it you have to measure everything you do.

How to Write Quality Articles, Lots of Them, Without Sacrificing Your Reputation

Most online article writers are completely challenged by writing, and yet, they realize they must write more articles to stay on top of their article marketing endeavors. Luckily, over the years, I’ve created several methods to assist me in doing this, and I believe it is time for me to share those with the world.

Occasionally, online article authors email me and ask me my secrets to high-output of articles, thus, I’d like to share with you the types of responses I give. Here is how you can write a high-quantity of articles without sacrificing quality; (step-by-step)

First step: Create word files with only titles of articles you wish to write about.

Second step: Go through these “title only files” and write 4 sentences of the key points or things you wish to say.

Third step: Think on it for a while, and then come back and write the first introduction paragraph stating the problem, challenge, history, or concern of the topic, sometimes this takes two paragraphs, meanwhile you are at a 100 words. At that point you may just keep going all the way through the article until you finish, keep going as long as you feel like.

Forth step: Write a paragraph of each of the three or four points you have. You can use or re-work your sentences as sub headings, as this makes a nice looking article with a good use of white space.

Fifth step: Conclude it. With a paragraph and provide encouragement and a hook for more information or problem solving solutions, then they’ll read your byline and hopefully click in.

Now then, let me go into a little further explanation and detail;

Here is what I do now, I write the titles of potential articles sometimes 10, 20, 50, or more, then close out the files. Come back later and go through all of them writing 3-4 points, usually sentences. And I do the lead in paragraph too. Then I close each file and save the work.

Later I come back with voice software and read my first paragraph and that ditches any writer’s block I might have had and use the voice to continue where I left off, but sometimes I do not use voice, because I am not in a quiet environment or there are other people around.

Usually I finish the article at about around 350 words or so, but often there is more to say, so I just keep on going until I’ve had my say, made my point, or given the information I wish to depart.

Next, since I often use voice software, I must proof-read extremely carefully because it might use the wrong tense, or incorrect words, and it is so easy to read over your own mistakes. Which is a good thing because the key to quality is good proof reading and you cannot rely on spell-check alone.

If possible, I have someone else read it for proof reading marking mistakes in red. If not, I do it myself very carefully. After I’ve proof read 5-10 articles, I post them and do another set of completed articles.

This method of production has worked well for me. And although your brain will get very tired after 10 voice articles, you can take a break and then edit, as that uses a slightly different part of your brain. If you do more than 20-40 articles in a day, you are going to need to get out of the house or office, or get a really good night sleep to recharge. This is how you can do it too.

They have heard that it is easy, fast, and they really believe it.

They start trying this and that and jump into all the new opportunities they find, but end up with poor results.

90% of these people don’t make any money, while the other 8% make a few dollars here and there. Neither group manages to make a living online. Just 2% of these people can get it right and make a living online.

When people see that making a living on the Internet is not as easy as they heard, they get all frustrated and start complaining.

The point is that they don’t realize that in order to make a huge amount of money on the Internet, you need to have a system in place. It is not just a system, you need the right system, a system that works.

When it comes to this business, there are two crucial elements that you need to keep in mind:

  1. Front-end
  2. Back-end

Basically the Front-end is where the process begins. It is the external part of your business and its’ mission is to collect information about your prospects and transfer it to the Back-end.

The Front-end has many components, which include:

- Your product information

- The webpage where you put your opt-in form and receive visitors’ names and e-mail addresses

- The methods you use to send people to your website

In other words, it is all the strategies and resources you use to acquire new prospects and customers. You always have to apply changes to improve it. It requires a lot of work.

The Back-end needs less work and effort. For example, people on your e-mail list are there, in the Back-end of your business.

You can put it on autopilot using your autoresponder. Simply pre-load it with a sequence of follow up messages that give good tips and offer the products you are selling.

At this point, you just have to measure the results you are getting. This way, you can improve that and still not have to do a lot of work.

I hope that now you understand the importance of having a proven system in place.

For example, as you know you have to work hard to promote your business and make people visit your site, but if you are not able to move them from the Front-end to the Back-end, all that work is wasted.

In your Front-end, you need an incentive to grab people. You need to give them something really good in exchange of the information you want, their names and e-mail addresses, so that you can continue contacting them.

This is when your autoresponder starts its work. You can see that, even if you have to test and track it, it is easier than the Front-end.

An important thing to understand here is that your business works as a system. All the elements play a role, which may be more or less important, but they are all necessities for running your business.

It is like a chain, there are links that are stronger and more important than others. But if any of these links break, no matter which, everything that chain was holding falls.

This is one of the main reasons many people don’t make any money online. They don’t understand the power of having a system in place nor how to set one up.

There are other important elements in the system you have to have in place, but I’ll talk about them in another post. But before I go let me ask you a question…

Most people spend the whole day doing unimportant things, like checking their email several times during the day or on sites like Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, or in forums and blogs.

I know that you visit all these sites to connect with people and to learn. That’s okay, but the point is that you become addicted to it all and you spend lots of hours at these sites so, at the end of the day, you have accomplished nothing.

There are too many distractions. Think about all the time you spend watching a Youtube video, or reading a thread in a forum, just because you are curious. By tomorrow morning, you’ll have lot of new messages in your inbox telling you to do this or that, but those things are not going to help you to move forward.

For example, count how many windows you have open in your browser right now. If you have more than one, you are not completely focused.

Many times you are reading an article and there is a link in it which opens a new window, so you interrupt your reading to do another thing. This can happen again and again. It is a cycle, you are not productive and it is killing your business.

Think about all the non-essential things you do every day. Let me go a little further and invite you to track what you are going to do from this moment to the end of the day. You can use this tool – Rescue Time. This way, you can understand better what I mean.

All these distractions increase the gap between what you should be doing to grow your business and what you actually do. There are crucial things that you have to accomplish to make your business take off and if you don’t do them, nobody is going to do it for you.

The point is that when you are starting out you don’t know exactly what you have to do to move forward. So you spend your day doing things that you shouldn’t be doing and as a result of that you are paralyzed and don’t get closer to your goal.

Think about where you were 30 days ago and where you are now. Did you move forward? I know how you feel because I was there, too.

Now stick with me, because I am going to share with you a simple method that will turn all this around, but to make it work, you have to put it into practice. Are you ready?

Here’s what you have to do to start moving forward:

1. Identify your actual situation, ask yourself:

- Do I have a budget? If so, how much?

- Have I defined my niche?

- Do I have a domain name?

- Do I have a web-hosting server account?

- Do I have a website?

- Do I have an autoresponder?

- Keep adding questions, answering them, until you are 200% sure it’s all covered.

2. Once you identify your actual situation, based on that, list in logical order the things you must do to start moving forward.

For example, if you already defined your niche and you have a domain name and hosting, then your next logical step is to put up your website and set up your autoresponder, and so on. Remember that the logical order is crucial.

For example, if you don’t have a website it doesn’t make sense to start working on traffic generation.

Decide what to do with the things that are difficult for you. It could be HTML, writing, graphic design, anything can be hard. For these problems, you have two options…

- You learn them

- You outsource them, within your budget

You need to create a kind of step-by-step action plan, you have to map out everything and get it all taken care of satisfactorily.

3. Now you stick that list to your computer’s monitor and from that moment on, the first thing you are going to do when you turn on your computer is the first thing in that list.

It is your main goal and you have to start working on it without excuses. Consider this business plan the most important thing in your life. Imagine that you or someone you love will be killed if you don’t accomplish this goal.

This will put pressure on you. Think about how much you could get done if someone puts a gun to your head and tells you, “Do it or I kill you.” What would you do? I am sure you would get it done.

4. At the end of the day ask yourself:

- Did I accomplish my main goal for today?

- How did I spend my time?

Then draw your own conclusions and figure out how you can be more efficient and productive.

It is not about how busy you are, it is about your efficiency and productivity. You can do lot of things during the day, but if they are not crucial to start and expand your business you are just wasting your time.

Remember, every single day you have a goal to achieve and only after you have achieved it you can do other secondary things, like checking your email.

Here’s my mantra, and it should be yours, too: First things first, second things not at all.

If you apply these 4 steps, I assure you that you are going to start seeing good results immediately and your business will take off. Just remember that it all depends on you.

You are where you are today due to what you did or didn’t do yesterday and what you do or don’t do today will determine where you’ll be tomorrow. The point is to do the things that MUST be done.
