Creating Greater Success With Ad Tracking

It’s hardly a secret that there is plenty of money to be made in affiliate marketing. However, only those who are willing to invest some time and some hard work into their affiliate marketing efforts will really see significant profits.

Succeeding in affiliate marketing is largely dependent on your own determination and your drive to succeed. Even the best affiliate program in the world won’t make you much in the way of returns is you don’t put in the necessary work to give this business a solid foundation. If the links and banners from your merchant affiliates are only window dressing, not much is going to happen for your affiliate marketing business.

You, as the affiliate have to convince your visitors that they should click on the link and then purchase the product or service you are marketing. Affiliate marketing can be very simple if you take the time to plan out your campaign and do the right things to ensure the success of your business.

You have to pick the right product or service to market and make sure that your website is well designed and has the kind of content which will draw traffic to your site.

An ad tracker is a piece of software which lets you track every click which visitors make on your referral link (the link to the merchant’s website). Even more useful is that you can see where the link was placed; you can buy ad tracking software or pay for the service from a provider who offers ad tracking. Ad tracking can monitor how your ad campaigns are doing, even those which are offline advertising methods! If you are signed on with several different affiliate programs, an ad tracker is a very useful tool to have. You should make every business decision on the basis of solid information.

One of the best sources of this information for you as an affiliate marketer is ad tracking software. You can use this software to create traffic reports for your website. With the facts on your side, you’ll find it much easier to succeed as an affiliate marketer. While it can be tough to get started in this business, once you start seeing those checks come in, you’ll be glad you decided to get involved.

    Hi Reed

    I couldn’t agree more.
    Unfortunately, I find it pretty hard to find a good/complete tracking script/software/service.

    Any suggestions?

    Greetz!

    Reed,

    Great post! I agree adtracker is a very important tool and I also agree what Jeff said about google analytics. There are many that do not know how much google analytics has to offer. I suggest that anyone that has it to do a in depth look over there account to find features that they did not know was there.

    Thanks I enjoyed your post.

    why is it difficult foe every internet company and business owners to pay their affiliates or subscribers on time,specifically in about less than two months sometimes even more than that before effecting first payment.aove all you are doing a great job in research no doubt.i’ll like to know if you can get me a free programme that the first payment can be withdrawn by me,may be sent into my personal account in less than two weeks or maximum of one month and i’ll know that i can withdraw my money when i so wish,rather than spending months like three six months before effecting payment which is what i’m presently experiencing and i feel demoralised about it.credit to you on your research work

    @Mieke a lot of people use Google Analytics http://www.google.com/analytics/

    @Jeff thanks

    @Serena Perhaps someone should craft a product on google analytics, I think a lot of us would get something out of a handy camtasia tutorial even it was free whoever did it would make money from the list

    @James thanks

    @taokeek I don’t know why but I can tell you I suffer the same problem. I know that I’m owed well into the 5 figures (and it wouldn’t surprise me if 6 figures or more) in affiliate commissions that I doubt I’ll ever get paid. I’d love to see someone with the right legal mind clean up this industry the government agencies would have a field day over false claims, misrepresentations and people not fulfilling any promises. As for your other comment, I’m not sure exactly what you are looking for. If I were to start over I’d create something to give away and then I would build my list. After I had a list I’d focus on promoting clickbank products since I’ve never had a problem being paid by them.

    Reed: I’m new to all this, though I doo see why ad tracking should be used. Would it be possible for you to critique/rate some ad trackers — compaaring cost, effectiveness, ease of use,etc?

    Ad tracking software needn’t be an expensive purchase and it is even possible to pick up free, good quality software on the net.

    It is simple to ad an I.D. to your links in order for you to chart their effectiveness.

    If you are using Adsense, then tracking of each ad through channels if especially recommended so that you can gage which of the ads or ad groups are most attractive and clicked on by visitors to your site! You want this ad (or group) positioned above the fold (the visible part of the website at the top of the page before one begins scrolling downwards).

    Best to you!

    Dave.
