I think that is what happens to a lot of beginners. They think it is easy because of some
sales letter they get. The first word in Work At Home is Work. Once they realize that there is work involved most quit. This information would help if they would use it. Thanks for the tips.

You hit the nail on the head! It is a crime the way hustler’s try to make the internet cash machine seem so simple, usually by touting their one-of-a-kind product.
    Congratulations on exposing the truth.

@Bruno Auger yes when you exchange ideas and knowledge with others you move forward faster.

@Rivers Corbett that’s right, you can’t know everything… everybody needs help sooner or later.

@Max I agree with you, the most important thing is to put this information into practice. I hope that people understand the power of working with others.

@Richard thanks, this information is for everybody, no matter if you are a newbie or an expert… Mastermind Groups are crucial to success.

This post really reminds me of what Chris Freville talked about in his Automated List Building course, among other useful stuff.

Mastermind groups are obviously a great way of accelerating one’s knowledge. Doing things in isolation often means learning by your own mistakes which could be avoided by having someone to talk to who has made those mistakes before you.

After all, a smart man learns from other peoples mistakes.

I still think that a total newbie would have to bring something to the table before they would let him join a Mastermind group. Unless the group saw something special in him or her that sparked their interest.

Hey Reed, Hows the Family? Great I hope!
Master mind groups are definately the way to grow your business but young entrepeneurs have
either a hard time getting in one or realising
they need the help to start with. Forums are the next best thing to a Mastermind group,
because you can get the knowledge from several
sources and mindsets. You must crawl before you walk.Knowledge is King! You can not know enough on a subject but you can never know too
much! Have a wonderful Day. Timothy Millar

@Michael thank you, there is no doubt that it’s the way to go.

@Jay you can find people in your region using meetup.com

@Michael thanks, it’s important to make people know how this really works.

@Terence I know that it is difficult for a newbie to be accepted in a Mastermind Group with experts on board, but a newbie can bring constructive criticism to the table, for example saying if he would buy or not from a specific website and why.

On the other hand, a newbie can be good at writing, designing, generating ideas, etc.

@Timothy Millar the point is that not everybody recognizes that brainstorming with others is key.

Forums are good, but the point is that they consume a lot of time. Of course, if you are not a member of a Mastermind Group you can use forums. But I encourage people to be part of a Mastermind Group to accelerate the process.

    Hi Reed,
Yet another great post -when I needed it most!

    You are so very correct:
1)It isn’t EASY stuff, this online marketing business…
2)Most folks are woefully ill-prepared when first starting out, and the learning curve can be murderously steep.
    3) One simply CANNOT-and should not- do it all themselves!

Thanks for the timely reminder that a Mastermind Group can certainly be a great way to go!
Makes me feel like I’m not alone in this after all!

I agree PV and you can and should use the mastermind principle in all areas of your life.

It’s a scientifically proven fact that groups make better choices than the smartest individual within that group.

    Your not better off alone.

I have to agree with all the posts here but there is one hick-up and thats geting these people to mastermind with you. You can go into any of these sites and try yes I say try but who answers. I was in a good group years ago and Donald was an old hat in the game he tourt us a lot and I will always be gratefull but this group folded. Do not ask me why because I do not know.
From what I learnt there you must have a leader, one who has done all these things and can help to divert any troubles before they start and one who is dedicated enough to stay with those people until they realy start making good money. Not just $500 per week or so but a lot more. Remember you will be tried out by those who know what is what and if the people are not confident enough to take what is dished out as a lot of you will know they will quite because of it.
It is so exciting to be geting income that they forget that they are only starting and there is more work to be done, so until they do all this and get over the humps that come up then they will be able to continue on their own if they want to but the best is now for them to form their own mentor-ship or group as this will keep them focused and is this not what we all have to do to get anywere? Stay focused.
    Thanks all
    Take care

I’ve been thinking about getting a group of folks together who own internet stores. Not affiliate sites per say, but actual stores where we can patronize each other’s shop ie; shoes, wines, candy, gift baskets, flowers, clothing, toys, collectables, etc.

I’ve networked with others in the past and all I got from them was their ads trying to sell me something, or they copy my work. Even when communicating on a personal level such as emails, I had to scroll down past numerous ads just to read their emails to me.

Just something I am thinking about. 🙂

@Carrie Pierce it is the way to go, go ahead and contact a couple of people to start working together.

    @Kenny Ritchie that’s the point.

@Dale Kydd you are right, you have to try because if you don’t try you will never be part of a group. You have to keep trying you’ll see that there are people willing to work with you…just try, it costs you nothing.

@Barb Hicks I see you had a bad experience, but it doesn’t mean that you can’t put together a MMG. Try to find the right people and clarify the objective and the way it works up front.

    @Wayne Bell thank you

  • Great post PV Raymond and also great site you have. I agree totally that it’s very difficult when you first start out. I’m there now and feel that I have to do everything myself. The amount of learning and trial and error seems to be endless. I’ll take your advise and joing a group to ask questions and hopefully feel more like part of a team

@The Beast 2 years are a lot, but I know people that have been trying to make money online for about 5 years without results. What I can tell you is that it can be done.

You have to find out what is stopping you. When you identify the things that are stopping you then you turn them into goals, you prioritize then and you start working on the most important one.

When you accomplish it then you move forward to the second one and so on…

@Luca – Reach Success Online thank you for your words, and don’t wait just go ahead and start connecting with people, you’ll love the results.

@James and Helen thank you very much

Very timely post for me as I am currently in the early stages of a mastermind group of 5 people from all around the world, sharing ideas and the workload and coming out with our own line of products.

My belief has always been that you can learn from your competitors and sometimes a collaboration in a mastermind group where each is working towards the same goal can escalate your learning curve and path to success.

Thanks PV for that excellent post.

Good post. I like the idea about only about 5 people in a mastermind group. In a regular forum there could be 50 or more people. With a fewer number everyone can have their say and learn faster, or even relearn things that they forgot. It would certainly help with the learning curve. There should be a team coordinator and have an agenda. What is not covered in one session can be brought to the next sesion with some research.

We love brainstorming sessions. They are stimulating and often very educational. This is how you expand yourself in business when others successful actions are brought directly to your attention.

This gives you the impetus to learn and expand. Marketing is all about growth, practice and focus. Get those and you will always have success!
