If you use surveymonkey.com to create a survey and email it to people, I think you will get more responses to this question. Most people (off the top of their head) may not remember everything they need help with. I have filled out several surveys like this before. Sometimes the person includes a free gift for those that take the survey, such as a short PDF, free report, etc. I hope this helps you!

There are so many so called gurus telling and selling there deal. What i would love to see is someone to be the first to put out and e-z ABC 123 video tutorials on each of the steps form beginer to advance methods and software/programs ect… to get a website up and running getting leads/list traffic sales ect… WITHOUT ALL THE HOOPLAH meaning all those other gurus are selling in reality there in home system which i feel trapped in some membership nightmare that doesnt really offer me anything substantial in growing my buisness.
They are vultures living off of others by upselling more products after they lure you in with that trial period $1 which they have all your data and attention to have you sell there buisness/program to others in turn you make a percentage/affiliates ect… ALL I WANT IS SOMETHING CLEAN E-Z TO UNDERSTAND WITHOUT ME SELLING THERE SYSTEM FOR THEM. Teach me how to do it myself, i want to sell my own stuff i have other websites that sell other products too.I have a mlm site I also have a retail site. so show me how to rank high with google with out all thise expensives, how and what to use for a landing and squeeze page, how do i market my niche? and make money at the same time. that would be of help . you can also contact me to discuss this more in detail

I agreem with Lorrie and Pat on the case of more free stuff and i realize that there is certain stuff that needs to be paid for but a newbie that is just getting in to any form of marketing needs th basic info to get establishedand start making at least a min. amount of money to be able to go on to purchase the bigger paying info. Like her (lorrie) I have purchased stuff only to find out that it requires me to already be established, have a list, be making some sort of money already. If I had the knowledge of what to put in place to help others to get started I could probably be making a substantial amount of money. Sorry so long but I think a lot of these “gurus” are taking advantage of newbies and intermediate marketers. No whining from me you asked a question we give you the answer.

    Hey Reed,

Anyone that’s involved in any way with Internet Marketing knows that “Content is King”. I would like to know two things.

First, if I want to outsource the creation of content for my blog or articles to drive traffic to my websites, where else can I go other than the usual places like elance.com, ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com, or any other place like these.

Second, there are tons of great videos on YouTube that are apparently OK to use on your websites because the creators of these videos give you the code to “cut and paste” so you can embed the video on your webpage or blog.

A lot of marketers do use these videos on their websites but I have not as yet because I’m not sure if it’s ethical or not. Even though they give you the code I don’t think you should be using someone else’s video unless you have their permission to do so.

What is your take on this?

    Hi Reed,

Little more understanding about squeeze pages would be good. The Idea is pretty straight forward but do you have to purchase a domain name & hosting for each squeeze page? If so what sort of domain name is best to use since it’s not like a normal website.

Most domain names you can get for around $10 USD (been in Australia that’s about $15) so If you have to purchase a domain name for each affiliate program, say you have 10, just to run your squeeze page your looking at $1000 (Aust. $1500) ๐Ÿ™ that’s a lot of money if your not making any money at first.

Blogging sounds like a solution but then what’s the best domain name for a blog since you can talk about anything on your blog.

Thanks for the chance to ask some questions ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hi Reed,

This might sound a little unconventional but
the main thing I want to learn about Internet
Marketing is to find connections TO THE GURUS

So I can learn from them about how they succeed
and how I can model after their success.

Reason I’m saying that is because I know that
the fastest way to succeed is when you model
someone who has achieved what you want to
    achieve in life.

If you can answer this, Reed, that would be
incredible. The only thing I can think of
right now to get their attention is to have
a product of my own and somehow make a name
for myself online, much like you have.

I’m with Pat, I’m a newby and do not have the income to buy expensive resources to make that “first sale”. A person once said, “you can do anything with good enough instructions.” For me, what works, is hopefully a step by step instruction plan for the beginner to make their first sale for little to nothing. The beginner then has a way to make their first monies so they can duplicate that first sale, take the money, reinvest in their business until they can grow and achieve their goals (making a living on internet). I personally am interested in beginning at the affiliate level until I can come up with my own product! Thanks for this opportunity to put our input into your publications.

Given so many people being laid off in this economy I would say a product/course that showed you a-z how to make your first $1000 online in 30days or something to that effect would be a big hit.

After having a big job loss..10K+a month,, I’m trying to rebuild my financial base online and have income come from a variety of sources vs one. I would much rather make $1000 from one online income source and $500 from another one and so on.

    Hey Reed,

Compelling (gutsy) question and great idea to ask us for feedback.

The trouble with the question, is that the answers will vary widely.

Each of us come to the internet with certain expectations (mostly earning money) and with it we bring our own personal knowledge and experiences, or the lack of them.

The question that each and every one of us should answer first is “What problem am I passionate about helping others solve”?

A lot of us have come to the internet as though it were a magic wishing well (the hype and get rich quick pitches helped us think that way) and as a result we have been mislead into thinking that it’s easy to make money by doing little or nothing.

Personally I started as a student to someone of guru status and I have yet to make it as big as promised.

It was largely my fault for expecting a fantasy income to come easily, and for not knowing how much I was expected to know (mostly technically in my case) before I started.

I am finally finding my spot online (actually it will be helping offline businesses get onlne for leads) but I’m doing it by assessing my personal skills and talents and applying them to business first (a need for affordable marketing help in the offline business world) and then using elements of the internet as effective tools.

The money we want to earn, ultimately has to come from somewhere, and money generally flows to good ideas and to the best solutions.

Good solutions, from knowledgeable passionate people, for existing problems will see the best money flow.

I’m grateful for the potential of the internet as a whole in spite of not hitting the (income) strides I’d like to hit just yet.

I think a FREE short bite sized step by step how you can earn 1000 dollars a month online starting from a specified point of knowledge and experience “little or no experience” would make whoever came up with it a total rock star.

It could be packages and sold as a solution to many of us on this list in fact.

If so many gurus, have made so much money online, why haven’t they been able to simplify the process to a point where we can grasp it?

I say we (haven’t made much money online yet in spite of a lot of time and money spent trying) should challenge them (“gurus” who say you can do it if you buy my “blah blah blah” product) to prove it to us by taking ten of us (qualified by our commitment and current knowledge) by the hand and actually help us get to the point that they promise, before we spend another nickel on anything that anyone sells.

Sorry for the rant, Just thinking out loud.

    Hi Reed,

Noreen, I finally gave up completely on adsense, so don’t feel bad. They have absolutely no customer service, if you can’t find the answer to your questions from FAQ or Forums, you can’t find the answer, because you will get 0 help from google. Don’t think of it as loosing money, there were plenty of people making lots of money before google even existed and if they go under tommorrow something else will replace it there will still be plenty of people making money on the net with or without google.

Personally I opened up an adsense account in 2006 and have yet to receive 1 penny in revenue from them even though the ads have run on several of my niche sites. So to me adsense has been no more than a waste of time.

So what would I like to learn about Internet Marketing?

Basically I would like an honest program or blueprint that is priced reasonably. I don’t mind paying for good information and assistance. I absolutely hate wasting time and money.

I say go search these people and imitate a little. Create a swipe file, learn their traffic tactics, etc. Learn their advice on Headlines. The onus is on US to learn this stuff. I tried to entice people in allied niches to add a link to my Clickbank product on their thank you pages, but with one exception, this has fallen on deaf years. I suspect that the product has to have a high enough commission to make it worth it for many to bother with this, or there may be an approach that works best that I just haven’t discovered yet.

It would be wonderful if there is a mentoring program where we can have access to somebody over the phone whenever we have a question.
The program must be affordable for newbies like us. I had enrolled in a program but when I have a question, I have to go to the forum and send a message to someone there and wait until I receive the answer. It is very frustrating. There are mentoring programs that offer unlimited phone consultations but they
start at $2,500. If you can have a mentoring program with a phone support system, that will
really meet a great need. That is a service that is badly needed by us newbies.

I could not figure out why they would be offering all of this for free. Then two out of the three sites announced that they were going to offer a paid coaching program. The claim was that this coaching program would take someone far beyond the free site with private coaching from this successful millionaire who would tell you all of his important secrets. But saying that I don’t feel like I have been duped because no one has to join the private coaching program, and you can still take advantage of and use all of the free stuff on his site. Hi Reed

This is great reading. Could I persuade you to make a report on this topic. I mean it would be interesting to know if there are certain needs or people just get stuck somewhere along the line to success at different points.

    Hi Reed,

Boy you are really asking for a lot. What can you write about to help? Everything! No, really there are some things I would like to see you discuss. (1) More Ideas for free traffic; (2) expand your article writing tips; and (3) any new idaes for niche marketing.

Thanks again for all your efforts,

Reed, can i reply to Asher? For beating information overload you need to first ‘clear the stress’ by walking outside for 30 minutes..
Then get a piece of paper and write a Marketing Plan. Select a strategy and resolve to ‘stick to it!’ – for several weeks.
For example my current plan is writing articles on web 2.0 properties like Hubpages, Squidoo and WordPress.com blogs, then linking them all together to gradually build up PR in Google. Then link to your (same topic) affiliate product web page. (Preferably one you wrote yourself.)
STICK to One Plan. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all your great info, its always helpful and you are a rare gem, you are really trying to help others succeed.

Number One is to get a good auto responder, you can do wonder’s with one of these.
I was confused to with everyone telling me to do this and that …………. the main thing is to clear out a lot of the confusion and start with one main thing the auto responder.

Thanks for the question and the approach. I know next to nothing about Internet Marketing (I.M), but I want to know everything. The meaning of the terminologies in I.M,how to create a website for I.M, loading it on the Internet and its complete management etc, etc. Thanks for sending the mail on the newly released Marketing operator – I don’t understand the terminologies involved but looks like a good time saving software. HOW CAN YOU HELP ME?
